Apple Watch Got Banned! Here is 6 best Apple Watch Alternatives 2024

Apple Watch Got Banned! -Oh man, did you guys hear the news? Apple done went and got their new Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 banned from being sold in the US. Yep, some kinda patent fight they got going on means we can’t buy those watches no more until they fix things. Dang it!

I was gonna get me that fancy new Ultra 2 for my birthday next month! Now I gotta find something else cause who knows when this whole mess will get sorted out. Could be months! Even Apple don’t know.

We still got options though so don’t worry!

Even with no more Series 9 or Ultra 2, there’s still plenty of great smartwatches out there for us to choose from. Brands like Garmin and Fitbit make some really nice ones. And get this – Apple’s still selling their older Apple Watch SE 2 model. It ain’t quite as slick as that Ultra 2 but it’ll still get the job done.

Let me break down some of the best Apple Watch alternatives for ya so you can pick one out. I’ll try to cover different prices and features so there’s something for everyone!

Apple Watch SE 2

Well if you still like Apple, the Watch SE 2 they put out last year could work. It’s cheaper than the Series 9 – starts at just $249. Still gets a lot of the same health stuff like GPS, heart rate tracking, workout detection all that jazz.

It’s even got the new crash detection stuff that calls for help if you fall and get hurt. Pretty handy if you ask me! Oh and the screen is real bright too, brighter than my future huh guys? 1000 nits they say.

Only real misses from the Series 9 is no ECG app, slower charger, older chip. But if you just want the basics it’ll treat you real good. Comes in 40mm or 44mm sizes. I’d probably go 44mm for that extra screen space but that’s just me!

Withings ScanWatch 2

OK this Withings ScanWatch 2 is a slick looking watch I ain’t gonna lie. Real fancy metal and glass design in a bunch of finishes. Looks like somethin’ James Bond would wear, know what I’m sayin’?

And it ain’t just handsome to boot neither. This thing can check your heart rate, oxygen levels, even take an ECG to scan for issues. So it’s real thorough on makin’ sure you stay healthy. Sleep tracking too.

It sends everything it records to the Withings health app on your phone. That app seems crazy good, laying out all your stats and giving you tips to improve. Might have to finally get my diet in check!

At $350 the 38mm model is just a bit more than the SE 2. If you want the looks and the health insights, could be worth it!

Fitbit Charge 6

Then we got the Fitbit Charge 6. Now Fitbit’s been around forever making quality fitness trackers and this one follows suit. Takes all your steps, calories, heart rate 24/7. Auto detects workouts too like runs and bike rides. Even does swimming!

Oh and the sleep tracking is nice and detailed, telling you when you were in REM, light sleep all that. Helps you fix bad habits so you feel more rested.

I will say one big bonus to the Charge 6 is it comes with six months free of Fitbit Premium. And that unlocks even more stats and health tips. Pretty sweet!

At under $160 it’s one of the cheaper choices too. Comes in some snazzy color combos as well if you wanna add some flair. I’m diggin’ that steel blue look. Matches my eyes!

Garmin Vivoactive 5

Now if you really wanna step up your fitness game, peep the new Garmin Vivoactive 5. Garmin makes awesome sporty smartwatches packed with features and this ain’t no different.

It’s got a big colorful touchscreen that’s easy to see even in bright sunlight. And it tracks basically any workout whether running, biking, hitting the weights you name it. Gives you all the nitty gritty details like distance, pace, calories and even form metrics like ground contact time. Crazy!

Plus it does all the basic smartwatch things too like phone notifications, music and payments. Oh and get this – battery life is nuts. Lasts almost two weeks as a watch or 15 hours with GPS running. Doggonit ain’t no need to charge this bad boy day after day.

My only gripe is the price – $300 ain’t cheap. But just look at all you get! If I had the money to spare I’d scoop this up fast. Comes in some real nice colors too.

Fitbit Sense 2

If I’m being honest, the Sense 2 be looking real good to me. Fitbit knocked it out the park making a smartwatch that’s both slick AND packed with health features.

It starts with that giant beautiful AMOLED display. Makes Apple’s boring ol’ screen look downright sad! But it ain’t just beauty either – this thing tracks everything about your health and fitness. Heart rate, stress levels, sleep quality – even uses EDA to measure nerve signals! You can see it all right in the Fitbit app.

And if you wanna get fit, built-in GPS lets you track runs and rides without lugging your phone. Get real nerdy with pace and heart rate zone data too.

Oh, and I almost forgot, it does all the regular smartwatch stuff on top the health tricks! Like notifications, voice commands for your smart home gear, contactless payments. They really went all-in making this dope.

At $250 it’s priced nicely and they got some great color options too. I already got the Shadow Grey one picked out in my cart just waiting to buy!

Garmin Forerunner 265

Garmin Forerunner 265

Last one I’ll highlight is the Garmin Forerunner 265. Now THIS watch right here was built for the running junkies. If you just eat, breathe, and sleep running, the 265 has all the stats and tools to feed that addiction!

You get the usual GPS to precisely track your runs by distance and pace. But it takes things three steps further analyzing things like your cadence, stride length, ground contact time and whatnot. Helps you really dial in the perfect form for tearing up PRs!

And with the built-in wrist heart rate, you can train specifically in certain zones for endurance or speed gains. Three customizable zones in fact so you can nerd out!

Now I know running big mileage means worrying about battery life but have no fear my friends! This beast somehow lasts up to two months in regular mode or 10 hours of straight GPS running. Yeah baby now that is mindblowing!

For $450 it ain’t cheap but for you hardcore runners chasing those gains I think it’d pay for itself big time by knocking down those PRs!

Summing Things Up

Whew, alright, we covered a lotta ground there gang! Long story short – even with the Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 banned for now, there are still so many awesome smartwatches to pick from at any budget. Whether you’re after fitness and health tracking or want a stylish accessory, brands like Fitbit, Garmin and Withings got you covered!

And if you absolutely gotta have Apple, there’s always the solid Watch SE 2 still being sold too. Grab that one asap though before the inventory runs out!

Hope breaking all that down made the options a lil’ more clear for ya. Let me know if you have any other questions, a’ight? Your buddy’s here to help! A’ight catch ya later, stay healthy out there a’ight? Peace!
