Facebook News Tab Going To Removed ?

Here is some update coming from Meta/ Facebook , they are going to remove its News tab next month in the U.S. and Australia. What did you think on this decision is right or wrong? Facebook already got rid of the News tab in some countries. Now it’s making the change to focus more on what people actually want like short videos.

Most People Don’t Want To Read News Tab on Facebook !

Facebook says less than 3% of what people see is news. Most go on to connect with friends and find fun new interests. You’ll still see news links posted by pages and accounts you follow. But publishers made big money from content deals in the News tab, and that’s ending. Its also bad news for them who produce content like bloggers.

If you for some reason want your Facebook News data, you can download it from profile settings before it’s gone.

The company told that they are getting rid of the tab to “focus our time and resources on things people tell us they want to see more of on the platform, including short-form video.” Yes, people, Facebook will no longer be posting news in order to devote more resources—both financial and time—to Reels.

“We know that people don’t come to Facebook for news and political content — they come to connect with people and discover new opportunities, passions and interests,” Meta said in a blog post. “As we previously shared in 2023, news makes up less than 3 percent of what people around the world see in their Facebook feed, and is a small part of the Facebook experience for the vast majority of people.”

Final Words

Very fewer audience are user of this Facebook news , and other users not even notice or they don’t care it going to be removed or not. The video content is increasing day by day so Facebook is shifting text to video content and it is beneficial for them. We can expect shorter Reels clips instead of newspaper headlines in our feeds going forward.
