Normally you have to record special slow motion video. But Samsung’s AI can take a regular video and insert extra frames to slow it down after the fact.
This gives you way more flexibility with creating dramatic or funny slow motion clips without specialized recording. The AI makes it very easy to make any video in slow motion !
How Is Samsung Galaxy S24 Giving Instant Slow Motion to Other Phones?
When introduced on the Galaxy S24 phones, Instant Slow Motion used the latest AI chip in those devices called the Galaxy AI chip.
But now Samsung finding ways to bring Instant Slow Motion to older Galaxy phones too, even without the newest AI hardware.
However, it will come with some limitations at first compared to Galaxy S24 performance.

Industry sources say Samsung is aiming to roll out the Instant Slow Motion update to supported previous Galaxy devices around March 2023.
It will likely arrive as part of the larger One UI 6.1 software update being prepped for those phones.
Why Are Older Phones Limited?
Sources explain that to run advanced AI features well, you need both a good AI chip (NPU) but also strong overall processing power (GPU).
Many older Galaxy phones likely lack enough GPU performance to fully keep up with the demands of Instant Slow Motion without some downsides.
So at first, the experience may be throttled a bit on non-Galaxy S24 devices until more optimization happens. But you should still get basic functionality.
