ASUS ROG Strix Scar 18 Review: As we all know, Asus is famous for its gaming laptop series like TUF, and ROG Strix, asus makes the best and under-budget gaming laptops. But, this time it’s an expensive gaming laptop but worth the price. I am talking about the all-new updated and slim ASUS ROG Strix Scar 18, Asus has improved many things in the same lineup, now it’s slimmer and thinner, but the performance is the same or a little improved, so, if you’re thinking to by this laptop, then in this article, I’ll share ASUS ROG Strix Scar 18 review with its specs and features.
Here is the ASUS ROG Strix Scar 18 Review with its Specs
ROG Strix Scar 18 Looks
Now, let’s discuss the Scar 18 itself. It’s a very big boy, 3 kg, but not overly heavy. They have kept it manageable with plastic in contrast to going all with aluminum. It’s slick, black, and, yes, it is fingerprint-friendly. However, let’s talk about the exciting part that is the main highlight of the laptop which is the RGB! The logo, the back, the front – everything is very customizable. They include ports on the left, power connector, RJ45, HDMI 2.1, and Thunderbolt 4. The keyboard tray is very huge and comfortable and the keys sound okay. In addition, there is this gigantic glass touchpad that is a joy to touch.
ROG Strix Scar 18 Display
Now, let’s talk about the display, it is an 18-inch, 16:A 10 mini LED display with a resolution of 2560 x 600. It’s a marvelous display, trust me. More than 2,000 zones and also a peak brightness of 1100 nits! I place it next to a MacBook Pro 16, the HDR king, and it does not disappoint. The colors are very bright, and the contrast is perfect – it’s a paradise for gamers and even for professionals doing design work.
ROG Strix Scar 18 Processor
At the bottom, this beast is powered by an Intel i9-14900 HX CPU, 32 GB of RAM, and a high-speed 5600 MHz RAM. It is definitely a gaming monster. However, the twist is that it is not that big of a jump from the Scar 17 of last year. In single-core performance, it’s the king but in the multi-core, it is yet to take the crown from AMD’s Ryzen 9. It is a gaming champ. Overall, if you are a pro gamer or an intermediate gamer, a coder, or a developer looking for gaming, work, as well as editing laptops then just go for this.
ROG Strix Scar 18 Cooling
Now, we come to the cooling of this powerhouse. The fans can get quite noisy when fully loaded, but they have done a very reasonable job of controlling it. Inside, there’s a protected smart sensor that will automatically switch off the laptop if you open it while it is on.
