The ability to automate their social media routine is a lifesaver for ad marketing experts and social media administrators. However, because of their self-proclaimed emphasis on building human connections, platforms—particularly Facebook and Instagram—are not necessarily properly geared for such activities. Because of this, users have been forced to use third-party tools and hacks to do tasks, although these frequently carry a real and symbolic cost. At least one of these aspects of automation is finally being eased by Instagram.
Everyone can now plan their messages ahead of time on the Meta-owned social media network. Users worldwide will be able to access the feature on both iOS and Android. Users seem to be limited to scheduling communications up to 29 days in advance at this time. Instagram does not impose operating system limits, so you can enjoy the convenience as long as you are using the most recent version of the program.
Creating Instagram messages with a timetable
Messaging scheduling was not yet accessible on the Android app, although it functioned flawlessly in the iPhone version of the Instagram app during SlashGear’s tests. To plan a message for your Instagram chats on iOS, take the following actions:
- Select a conversation by opening the DMs/chat section of the Instagram mobile app.After that, type the required message into the Message area located at the bottom of the screen.
- To access the scheduler, long-press the arrow-shaped send icon once you’ve finished writing your message.
- Select the day and time using the input columns that scroll vertically in the scheduler window that appears in the lower portion of the screen.
- A blue button at the bottom will display the time and date you select for the planned message. The message will be scheduled when you tap on it.
- A ticker that says something like “1 scheduled message” will appear above the write pill in your chat window once you have scheduled a message. When you tap on it, a tiny pop-out window with the planned message list appears. You can send the text instantaneously, copy its contents, and delete it by long tapping on the message bubble.
Similar instructions for scheduling messages on iOS and Android are included on Instagram’s support page, suggesting that the feature was introduced gradually, first with iOS and finally making its way to all Android users.
