With thousands of sparkling lights and entertaining, interactive activities, do you want to experience Christmas like never before?
That and more are provided by Louisiana Lights at the Burden Museum and Gardens.
“We’re welcoming people from all over the world to Louisiana Lights, which is Baton Rouge’s newest holiday tradition,” said Bill Stark, director of the LSU Rural Life Museum.
With more than 400,000 lights, the family-friendly event is located in the centre of Baton Rouge.
Jeff Kuehny, director of the LSU AG Centre of Botanic Gardens, stated, “This garden is magical, and the enhancement of the lights makes it even more magical.”
According to Stark and Kuehny, it has been in the works for years and is a component of an unfinished master plan.
In order to truly develop and shape this, Stark stated, “We have been working, we have conducted workshops with people, volunteers who came out, and stakeholders.”
You may cook s’ mores, get wine or hot chocolate, shoot a ton of photos, and watch live music.
“It is a mile and a half to walk through.” Since you will be taking in the sights, you won’t feel the mile and a half. For anybody who don’t think they can get that far, we do offer a small bypass. They can skip around and see just the essential portion of the show, but not the whole thing,” Kuehny stated.
You should feel festive after watching Louisiana Lights. It also seeks to highlight the beauty of nature, the garden, and its statuary.
“A stroll by a 20-acre lake with the lights reflecting into the lake is part of the experience because this five-acre property is in the middle of 400 acres,” Kuehny explained.
Since it opened, almost 2,000 individuals have come. According to Stark, buying tickets provides an experience and benefits others.
“The money they receive from this will be used to help restore and maintain the Windrush gardens, the historic buildings within, and the property overall,” Stark stated.
Through December 29, Louisiana Lights is open Thursday through Sunday. At 5:30 p.m., the light display will begin. Adults and children aged four and up can purchase tickets for $20.
Tickets must be purchased and reserved online. Although they have set durations, guests are free to stay for however long they like.
All of the tickets are timed entry, and we’ve had several sell-out days. You can stay as long as you like, but you have to come in at a specific time to assist balance that flow,” Stark explained.
